1 dead, 2 seriously injured after crash in southern Ontario [Video]

One person is dead and two others are seriously injured after a crash in southern Ontario on Tuesday.

Ontario Provincial Police said emergency crews responded to the scene on Argyle Street South in the Caledonia area at around 3:33 p.m.

A vehicle and an SUV collided on Argyle Street South, east of Highway 6, OPP said.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead.

A passenger in that vehicle was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was also taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

OPP said that a person stopped at the crash scene to provide assistance.

An investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any relevant information was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
