Police say a pre-arranged fight in an Oakville park has led to the stabbing of a 13-year-old boy.

Investigators with Halton Regional Police say the victim has since been released from a hospital and that a 15-year-old male has been charged.

According to reports, the two knew each other and had a dispute, so they decided to settle it in a fight around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 14, at Memorial Park on Oak Park Boulevard.

Police say a knife was used which sent the 13-year-old to the hospital.

The suspect was arrested the next day.

The 15-year-old is now charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
