15 locations identified where measles could have been contracted in Ontario [Video]

The health department in the Peel Region says there are up to 15 locations where members of the public may have been exposed to measles, based on recent confirmed cases.

Two new cases of measles have been confirmed by Peel Public Health, bringing the total to eight so far in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon in 2025. Last year, there were just three cases in Peel.

Of the eight cases, five have been related to travel, and three were from close contacts or community spread.

Although most of the identified locations are in Brampton and Mississauga, Oakville and Vaughan are also areas where the virus that causes measles could have spread.

Measles is a contagious viral disease spread through coughs or sneezes. Those infected can suffer from symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes and a rash. Young children are the most susceptible. While most can recover within two …
