160-year-old building in Ontario about to open as new boutique hotel [Video]

If you’re planning to travel locally this summer, you might be happy to hear that Canada’s oldest flatiron building has been transformed into a boutique hotel and is slated to open to guests next month. 

Recently, the team behind the new Ayrshire Hotel, a property that’s taking shape in the picturesque Ontario village of Elora, announced that pre-bookings are open for the new accommodations.

According to the hotel’s website, the building was once known as the Dalby House and dates back to 1865. Located at 143 Metcalfe St. in Elora’s downtown core, the building has been restored by multiple owners over the years and has been home to one of the village’s first hotels, a stagecoach facility, doctor’s offices and a bar.
