178 break-and-enters over 30 days in Mississauga and Brampton, Ontario [Video]

Crime never takes a rest as the bad guys continue to ply their trade in both Mississauga and Brampton.

In the last month, there have been 178 break-and-enters between the two cities, with no area of Peel Region immune from the criminal activity.

According to data from the Peel Regional Police crime map, businesses in downtown Brampton have been a hotspot with 11 occurrences taking place over the past 30 days.

Since the beginning of this year, there have been 840 break-ins reported and again, downtown Brampton has been targeted a lot, with both businesses and residences victimized.

Businesses along Dundas Street West and Lakeshore Road in Mississauga, particularly in Port Credit, also appear to have had plenty of unwelcome visitors since Jan. 1.

As for homes, they are not immune to being sought out by criminals, and Peel Police have a few tips to keep your household safe.
