Cooler temperatures brought frost warnings this week but warmer weather is expected this weekend in southern Ontario.
The temperature dropped to around 2 C early Thursday morning in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and much of the GTA, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
A frost advisory was issued for parts of southern Ontario and some planes needed deicing before takeoff at Pearson Airport.
Temperatures will rise starting on Thursday with highs of 15 C and sunny skies expected. Friday gets a bit warmer up to 18 C.
The weekend weather forecast is for near summer-like temperatures at 20 C and sunny skies for both Saturday and Sunday for Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville and Durham Region.
It will still be chilly in the evenings with temperatures dropping to around 8 C.
The forecast is slightly cooler in Hamilton with highs of 19 C and warmer in the Niagara Region at 21 C. Sunny, clear skies are forecast.
