180 break-and-enters over 31 days in Mississauga and Brampton, Ontario [Video]

There were 180 break-and-enters over the last 31 days in Mississauga and Brampton.

According to Peel Regional Police data, incidents occurred from May 8 to June 7.

Both cities saw their fair share of crimes related to break-ins, with 90 of the incidents happening in Mississauga and the other 90 in Brampton.

The map below shows where these incidents took place:

The data further indicates that the following places were targeted:

51 houses, 10 apartments, eight residential garages or sheds, eight apartments, nine restaurants, two construction sites, three schools, three stores, one gas station and two offices; 12 were simply listed as “other,” and 71 were “unidentified” businesses.

The top common hotspots for these break-ins this month were:

  • Dundas Street—six occurrences
  • Kennedy Road—five occurrences
  • Lakeshore Road—six occurrences
  • Queen Street—11 occurrences

As of June 7, with the investigations into the majority of these cases, 138 are still ongoing, 38 are considered solved and four have been deemed unsolved.
