19-year-old wanted after sexual assault of youth in Ontario city [Video]

York Regional Police are searching for a 19-year-old Pickering man after a youth was sexually assaulted in Richmond Hill in October.

The victim met Abraar Shaikh through a social media app aimed at young people and the two had communicated for several days before meeting in person on October 21. Police said the victim was then driven to a location in Richmond Hill and sexually assaulted.

Shaikh is known on social media as ‘Aria’ and ‘Aria_abu416’ and police are concerned there may be more victims.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to hear from anyone who feels they may have been a victim of this or any sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
