Two people are dead and one is injured after separate crashes in southwestern Ontario on Monday, police say.
Ontario Provincial Police said emergency crews first responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and passenger vehicle in the Town of Essex, on County Road 18, west of County Road 15, at around 11:48 a.m.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, police said.
County Road 18 was closed after the crash.
“Investigators would like to speak anyone who may have observed these vehicles prior to the collision, who observed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the collision,” OPP said.
Single-vehicle crash claims another life
Around one hour later, at 12:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on Pratt Siding Road in Southwest Middlesex, police said.
That’s around an hour and a half drive from the first crash scene.
