2 injured after getting hit by potential stolen car in Montreal [Video]

Two people are injured after their vehicle was hit by a car that Montreal police (SPVM) suspects could have been stolen.

The incident happened at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday when patrol officers say they noticed a vehicle that “may have been linked to criminal events,” according to Mariane Allaire Morin, a spokesperson with Montreal police.

She notes the officers lost sight of the vehicle before locating it on Bélanger Street near 30e Avenue in the Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie borough.

“The vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle,” said Allaire Morin, adding the driver fled on foot but was soon arrested.

The two people in the other vehicle, in their 40s, suffered minor injuries to their upper bodies.

One was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

“The suspect, a 30-year-old man, was not injured,” said Allaire Morin. “At this time, it is not known how many suspects are involved.”
