A be-on-the-lookout notice was issued just before midnight on Monday evening.

COVINGTON, Ga. — Police in Covington are searching for two children they say were taken from their grandmother on Monday by a non-custodial family member.

According to the Covington Police Department, 15-year-old Zakya Anderson and 13-year-old David Rankin were taken from their grandmother. The suspected non-custodial family member was not named.

The children are still believed to be in metro Atlanta, the police department said, and were last seen in a burgundy GMC Yukon with the Georgia tag 00CARE.

Anyone who has seen the children or has information about where they may be is asked to contact Detective Jack Treadwell at 770-385-2196 or [email protected] or analyst Stacy Kelley at 770-385-2144 or [email protected].
