Two people have been found dead in an Ontario town, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said that on Saturday shortly after 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a call after a property owner found two people deceased.

It happened in the Township of Whitewater Region in eastern Ontario, which is west of Ottawa.

“While the cause of death cannot yet be confirmed, investigators believe there is no threat to public safety,” OPP said.

An OPP spokesperson told INsauga.com that the deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

An investigation is ongoing.

“The investigation is in the early stages and no further details can be released at this time,” police said.

Anyone with information was asked to come forward.
