Bundle up, Ontario! Some of the coldest air in years is sweeping across the region, bringing bone-chilling temperatures and hazardous conditions that might make you think twice about stepping outside.
According to the Weather Network, Saturday might lull residents into a false sense of warmth, with highs hovering between 1 C and -3 C across much of the province. However, by Sunday morning, temperatures are expected to nosedive as Arctic air floods in.
In northern Ontario, temperatures could plummet by as much as 24 C within 24 hours, while southern Ontario may experience a 20 C drop between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
Beginning Tuesday, Ontario is forecast to experience a teeth-chattering minus 15, the coldest since January 2019, according to The Weather Network. Meanwhile, Ottawa’s overnight low could plunge to minus 27, a temperature not seen since February 2023.
