PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WTVG) – A 24-year-old man from Venezuela is in the Wood County Jail on forgery charges, accused of pretending to be a 16-year-old Perrysburg student.

According to a letter to parents, school officials said Anthony Labrador was arrested on charges of felony forgery by the Perrysburg Police Department on Monday. The school said he was living with two adult legal guardians, who contacted the school saying they had received information that he was not a minor.

The school said he was in possession of a Ohio’s Driver’s License, a Social Security number, a Temporary Protective Status from the U.S. Immigration Department and had submitted a completed application for a VISA with assistance of Advocating Opportunities which provides free legal assistance.

Police documents said a person claiming to be Anthony Labrador contacted the school in November 2023, claiming to be trafficked from Venezuela and now living in Perrysburg. He …
