Big temperature swings are expected into the first week of March in southern Ontario.
Most of the last week of February has been unseasonably warm but a deep freeze is moving in on the weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, lows down to -17 C are expected in the GTA including Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, Halton Region and Durham.
With the wind chill, it could feel like -22 C overnight on Saturday.
But the weather is expected to turn again next week with temperatures warming up to -1 C by Monday afternoon, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
On Tuesday, a high of 4 C with rain and snow is expected in parts of the GTA.
But Wednesday is looking like the warmest day with double-digit temperatures coming to some areas.
The forecast for Milton, Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton is a high of 10 C to 12 C on Wednesday, according to the Weather Network.
