As of Sunday (June 8), skies will be sunny with light smoke lingering from the wildfires. While Environment Canada has not issued an air quality advisory, individuals sensitive to smoke may still notice mild symptoms such as eye, nose or throat irritation, headaches or a dry cough. Less common symptoms may include wheezing, chest tightness or persistent coughing.
Environment Canada advises that people over 65, pregnant individuals, infants and young children, those with chronic health conditions and anyone working outdoors are more likely to be affected by poor air quality. These groups are encouraged to limit strenuous outdoor activity and seek medical advice if symptoms appear.
