Three Canadian universities ranked among the top 50 in the world.

On Wednesday, Global higher education specialist, QS Quacquarelli Symonds, released the 15th edition of the QS World University Rankings by subject, comparing over 21,000 academic offerings, taken by students at more than 1,700 universities across 100 countries and territories in 55 subjects and five faculty areas.

Canadian universities excel in engineering and biological sciences, according to QS Quacquarelli Symond. The University of Toronto ranks in the top 50 in a world-leading 46 subjects.

The University of Toronto, McGill University and the University of British Columbia make the top 50 overall.

With a score of 84.1, the University of Toronto ranked number 25, McGill was close behind with a score of 83, ranked 29, and the University of British Columbia ranked 38 with a score of 81.
