336 vehicles stolen over 31 days in Mississauga and Brampton, Ontario [Video]

Auto thefts continue to remain high in Mississauga and Brampton, with more than 300 incidents reported to police over the past 31 days.

From Feb. 22 to March 22, Peel Regional Police data indicates a combined 336 vehicle thefts were reported across both cities — 194 in Mississauga and 142 in Brampton.

This works out to an average of approximately 10 thefts or more per day in the region.

As of Saturday, eight stolen vehicle cases had been successfully solved, 298 are still being investigated, and 30 were deemed unsolved. Of the stolen vehicles, 261 are cars, four are motorcycles, 64 are trucks and seven are listed as “others.”
