A 75-year-old registered nurse has been charged with sexual assault at a long-term care home in Newcastle, Ontario.
On October 15 the man was employed as a nurse at Fosterbrooke Long-Term Care Home on King Avenue West in Newcastle on the east side of Clarington. During his shift, the suspect was in the room of a resident where he was discovered touching the victim “inappropriately.”
Oshawa resident Eliezer Magdamo is charged with sexual assault and has been released on a promise to appear in court.
Police are concerned there may be more victims and have released the names of other institutions he has worked at, including the Whitby Mental Health Centre (now Ontario Shores) from 1980-2010 and Altima Long-Term Care (now Glen Rouge Community/Long-Term Care) from 2010-2015.
Magdamo has been at Fosterbrooke since 2016.
