83-year-old’s death ruled a homicide in Ontario [Video]

The death of an 83-year-old individual in Ontario has been ruled a homicide, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said that on Wednesday at around 2:36 p.m., officers went to a home on Sherk Street in Leamington, southeast of Windsor, for a wellness check.

Leamington resident Anita Goodings was found dead.

“A postmortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and determined the death was a result of a homicide,” OPP said.

“Police have a limited description of a person of interest in connection with this investigation. They are described as a white male with a muscular build.”

Goodings’ cause of death wasn’t released.

Police said they believe it was an “isolated incident.”

OPP said there will be an increased police presence in the area as officers investigate.

Anyone with information was asked to come forward.
