Buffalo Sabres trade Mittelstadt to Colorado for Bowen Byram [Video]

Forward Casey Mittelstadt has been traded to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Bowen Byram.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres are making some moves before the trade deadline.

Forward Casey Mittelstadt has been traded to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Bowen Byram. 

Byram was selected fourth overall by Colorado in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. 

The 6’1″ defenseman has played in 146 NHL games, scoring 23 goals and 40 assists, and is a +16. 

Byram also won a gold medal with Canada at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic, where he was teammates with current Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens.
