RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – On Friday, March 19, the Great Basin Indigenous Women Rising is hosting a powwow to bring awareness to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives in the Great Basin.

Autumn Harry, organizer of the event, and Cheryl Johnson, Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Member, join us on Morning Break to share how the Red Dress Powwow is a time for the community to gather together, honor, and dance for loved ones.

There will be 40 different vendor and educational booths. Artists will also be displaying and selling their work.

The gathering will take place at the Boys and Girls Club of the Truckee Meadows Friday night at 7 p.m.
