Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew announces budget investment for minor illness clinics – March 27, 2024

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew announces that his government will invest $17 million in its upcoming provincial budget to create eight minor injury and illness clinics across the province. The clinics will aim to reduce the demand on hospital departments, with the first facility scheduled to open in Brandon in September. Health Minister Uzoma Asagwara, Brandon East MLA Glen Simard, Brandon Mayor Jeff Fawcett, and Prairie Mountain Health CEO Brian Schoonbaert also take part in the Winnipeg news conference. Manitoba will table its budget on April 2.
