KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Just after 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Kansas City police rushed to reports of a pedestrian hit on I-435.

It happened on northbound I-435 and Winner Road.

A pedestrian was crossing all lanes of northbound I-435, traveling from east to west, when they were hit by a silver GMC Yukon Denali driving in that same direction.

The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver stopped immediately and cooperated with police.

All lanes of northbound I-435 were closed at Truman Road for approximately three hours. The highway has since been reopened.

This is driving fatality #34 compared to #20 at this time last year in Kansas City.
