The former Post Office executive Angela van den Bogerd was questioned at the inquiry into the Post Office horizon scandal. Van den Bogerd worked for the Post Office from 1985 to 2020, and personally handled many post office operators’ complaints about the Horizon IT system. She started by apologising to operators who had been wrongly convicted or had their contracts terminated, saying: ‘I am truly, truly sorry for the devastation caused to you’
