Everyone knows the saying, “practice makes perfect.”

For the Mustangs, this proved to be true at the conclusion of the Summer league they partake in.

West Perry played in the Tri-Valley summer league and played local teams such as Greenwood, Halifax, Millersburg, Newport, East Juniata, Susquenita and Juniata.

Last year, West Perry competed in the same league and finished fourth. This year, it finished the league 6-1 and played Juniata in the championship game.

On July 9, West Perry and Juniata headed to Susquenita where one team would come out champions.

The game started out in Juniata’s favor as West Perry trailed 15-13 in the first half.

When Casey Sutch made a free throw to take the lead, the Mustangs held the lead throughout the end of the game when they won 36-27.

Rising senior and last year’s team MVP Braedon McKeever led the team with 11 points going five-for-eight with shots, earning five rebounds, five assists …
