Car crashes into tree in N.J. town, seriously injuring young child [Video]

A 4-year-old child was airlifted to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries after a vehicle crashed into a tree in East Windsor, injuring three other people, police said.

The East Windsor Police Department said they responded to a collision involving one car with four occupants at about 10:53 p.m. Friday.

The young child who was seriously injured was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick by a New Jersey State Police medevac helicopter and Capital Health Paramedics, police said. The driver, an adult passenger and another juvenile passenger were taken to the same hospital by ambulance with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The car, a black 2008 Honda Civic, reportedly was traveling west on Hickory Corner Road when it veered off the road and crashed into a large tree in area of the Brookwood Gardens apartment complex, police said.
