St. Thomas police work to get person off a roof [Video]

St. Thomas police have taken a man into custody in relation to an assault investigation.

The area of Hiawatha Street and Owaissa Street was closed for about 4.5 hours while police tried to get a man off the roof of a home.

Police say this is case of intimate partner violence. One person was transported to hospital with minor injuries as they arrived just before 6 a.m.

Around 10:25 a.m. the man was arrested and taken off of the roof.

It’s believed the person taken into custody, who was known to the victim, was not injured.

Police confirm there was a weapon involved.

Officers are calling this an isolated incident,with no threat to public safety.
