It’s officially autumn, but as Southern Californians know, it sure won’t feel like it for a while.

Temperatures on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will reach triple digits in some areas and are likely to cross 90 degrees in most.

High temperatures for Monday across the Southland include: 88 in downtown Los Angeles, 96 in Burbank, 95 in Thousand Oaks, 101 in Santa Clarita, 97 in Pasadena, 84 in Long Beach, 87 in Anaheim, 98 in Riverside and 95 in Ontario.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, those numbers are expected to rise by a couple of degrees in each city.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperatures increase will be due to a high pressure system off the coast, weakening the offshore flow.

As of Sunday, no NWS advisories have been issued for the upcoming week, though residents should still take precautions in the heat. The NWS said those advisories could come as soon as Tuesday.
