Wireless coverage has just gotten a boost in Juneau and Skagway. AT&T announced that it’s made upgrades to and improvements to 11 cell sites in Southeast Alaska. This is expected to improve wireless connectivity for residents, businesses, and visitors to both Juneau and Skagway. Officials say this project was in the works for several years and was much needed to alleviate network congestion.

If you noticed a lot of people wearing orange shirts on Monday, I can explain why. September 30 was recognized as Orange Shirt Day. According to Tlingit & Haida leaders, it’s an opportunity to honor the indigenous survivors of boarding schools. Tribal leaders shared photos from a Community Solidarity event at the whale statue in Juneau. See the Photos

Crews with the University Fire Department in Fairbanks recently spent a day training with the Alaska Railroad. The firefighters did some practice work related to emergency operations and patient removal. More Photos from the Training
