GETTYSBURG, Pa. — A Canadian man has been charged with using a sword to cause thousands of dollars in damage to several automobiles parked outside a Gettysburg hotel over the weekend, police said.
Raymond Bondy, 39, of Edmonton, Alberta, is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol when he embarked on what Gettysburg Police called a “destructive rampage” in the parking lot of the 1863 Inn of Gettysburg Sunday night, according to charging documents.
He reportedly used a black sword he retrieved from his vehicle to slash the tires of four cars parked near his at about 11:18 p.m. Sunday. A hotel employee who witnessed the alleged incident contacted police, according to the criminal complaint.
