Nelson Little’s hit song receives standing ovation at Manitoba Legislature – PortageOnline.com [Video]

A Portage la Prairie musician who admittedly doesn’t get too involved with politics recently found himself in the hallowed halls of the Manitoba legislature.

Nelson Little, who has been “Making it Happen” all year was recognized this week in Winnipeg and it was a big honour for Little. The inspiring tune that was co-written with a couple of other Portagers, Dave Rodgers and Dave Wasyliw.

The hit song Just Make It Happen, has gained significant popularity this year topping several different music charts. That success was noted by MLA Jeff Bereza and then recognized in the legislative assembly Monday, where the Portage MLA delivered a statement praising its motivational message. Following Bereza’s speech, Little received a standing ovation from all the politicians present.

Bereza noted Little’s family roots and first nations background growing up on a farm in Pine River, with his mother originally from Peguis and father from Winnipegosis/Cormorant …
