BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Local groups are holding supply drives for western North Carolina in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

GFL Environmental has partnered with the Wilmington Contractors Association and T.A. Woods to collect supplies at the Bolivia GFL branch at 2809 Galloway Road NE from 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 19.

Supplies needed include:

  • Long sleeve shirts or sweaters (Adults and Children)
  • Long Pants (Adults and Children)
  • Winter Coats and Jackets (Adults and Children)
  • Socks (NEW- In Package/ Adults and Children)
  • Gloves and Hats (Adults and Children)
  • Sleeping Bags (Preferably rated for -0 degree but anything will help)
  • Blankets and Comforters
  • Hand Warmers
  • Propane Grills and Propane Refills
  • Lighters and Lighter Fluid
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries
  • Water Purification or Tabs
  • Portable Buddy Heaters (Run off Propane)
  • Camping Supplies (Tents, Camping Dishes/Utensils, Hammocks, Sleep Pads, Etc.)
  • Bug Spray
  • First Aid Kits
  • Water
  • Baby Supplies (Food, Wipes, Diapers, Formula)
