Alberta’s Municipal Affairs Minister Ric McIver has unveiled new municipal election and political party rules. The rules make sweeping changes, including regulations new municipal political parties in Edmonton and Calgary will have to follow ahead of next year’s municipal election. The government says these rules will make local elections more transparent.
