Fog advisory in effect for cities and towns in southern Ontario [Video]

A fog advisory is in effect for parts of southern Ontario this morning (Oct. 19).

Environment Canada is warning of near-zero visibility due to dense fog patches affecting several regions, with conditions expected to improve later in the day.

The following areas are impacted:

  • Burlington
  • Oakville
  • Milton
  • Halton Hills
  • Hamilton
  • Mississauga
  • Brampton
  • Caledon
  • Pickering
  • Whitby
  • Ajax
  • Oshawa
  • Uxbridge
  • Beaverton
  • St. Catharines
  • Welland
  • Niagara Falls
  • Grimsby

Drivers are advised to turn on their lights, maintain a safe following distance and be prepared to stop if visibility worsens. Hazardous travel conditions are expected until the fog clears.
