Former Starbucks building vacant for over 3 years in Mississauga [Video]

A Starbucks on a busy Mississauga commercial street closed over three years ago and people are wondering why the building is still vacant.

The Starbucks at 242 Queen St. S. in Streetsville closed permanently in February 2021. The coffee shop had occupied the small brick building for many years. At that time, Starbucks was closing shops across Canada in response to changes in consumer habits during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the closure, the building has sat vacant with paper covering the windows.

The councillor for the area, Brad Butt, told INsauga.com he has been trying to find out what is happening with the building.

“I have had people call my office who want to rent it,” he said.

Butt said he contacted the owner several times but received no response. INsauga also attempted to contact the owner but calls and emails were not returned.

Butt heard the building may have been leased but he wasn’t able to get confirmation.
