O-I Glass planning to close innovation center [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – O-I Glass is planning to layoff an unspecified number of employees and close some of its plants across the United States and Canada.

A spokesperson told 13 Action News that the Perrysburg Innovation Center at O-I’s headquarters will be among those idled along with a plant in Illinois.

The restructuring comes less than two weeks before the company is set to release its third-quarter financial report.

It also takes place amid declining sales of glass bottles in the spirits sector which is an important source of O-I’s sales.
