Freezing temperatures forecast this weekend in southern Ontario [Video]

Shorts and t-shirt weather may finally be over in southern Ontario — chilly temperatures are forecast this weekend.

The blast of warm weather last weekend and early this week was unseasonable. Temperatures were around 25 C at Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga on the weekend and in the first few days of the week. Normal temperatures for this time of year are around 12 C.

As forecast earlier, a cold front moved in Thursday bringing temperatures down to 4 C in the morning. A high of 13 C is expected Thursday, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

The weather will be much the same Friday with highs of 13 C and lows of 5 C but there is also a 30 per cent chance of rain in Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton, Durham Region and most of the GTA.
