The city will add more transit service, close downtown roads, deploy additional police officers and even activate its emergency operations centre when Taylor Swift brings her blockbuster Eras Tour in two weeks.
At a press conference at city hall Thursday that included representatives from Toronto’s police force, transportation department, and economic and culture division, officials likened the pop star’s six-date tour stop to a visit from the pope or the Raptor’s 2019 championship parade in terms of the logistical challenges it will create, and laid out details of how they intend to respond.
