A new Costco is opening in southern Ontario later this week.

The warehouse will be located in Brantford and will mark the city’s first Costco location, a news release from the company said.

It’s located off of Wayne Gretzky Parkway next to the Lynden Park Mall.

The warehouse will have a sushi department — the first of its kind for Costco in Ontario.

The business will also have a gas station with 24 pumps and 813 parking spots.

It has resulted in the creation of 180 permanent and 80 seasonal jobs.

The warehouse will offer beer, wine, and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages for sale, joining all other Costco locations in the province after the government’s recent expansion of alcohol sales.

The location opens to the public at 7 a.m. on Friday following a ceremony.
