When America finally headed to the polls Tuesday, it did so in the wake of false narratives and misinformation — including fake bomb threats and conspiracy theories sparked by ballot machine issues — with some of the unease fed by Donald Trump himself. 

Voting appeared to go smoothly in the race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Voters were able to cast a ballot with little issue and, according to Reuters, a senior official with the American Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency — the group tasked with protecting election infrastructure like tabulators and voter databases — told reporters by early afternoon that there was little evidence of significant threats.
