CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – As the temperatures drop and you’re looking for ways to keep your house warm, you’ll want to be aware of a recent product recall.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is issuing a recall of one brand of space heaters.
The heaters are from the brands Govee and GoveeLife, sold online at Amazon and TikTok shop.
The U.S. is recalling 512,500 of these heaters. The Canadian government is also recalling 48,600 units.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there have been 113 reports of these space heaters overheating, including seven reports of fires and one report of a burn injury.
The commission urges customers to stop using them and contact the brands for a refund. Customers are asked to unplug it, cut the power cord and send an image of the deactivated heater, along with the manufacturer’s label and SN code to this website.
