The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) issued a 72-hour strike notice to Canada Post early Tuesday morning, allowing postal workers to legally strike as of Friday if a settlement is not reached. Canada Post, in turn, served the union with a 72-hour lockout notice, CUPW said Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, CUPW said that Canada Post “claims to be committed to reaching negotiated collective agreements, but its actions show otherwise.”
