Brockville, Ont.: Christmas comes early with ‘Miracle on King Street’ event, Santa Claus Parade [Video]

Even though it’s still just over one month away, downtown Brockville, Ont. was in the Christmas spirit on Saturday.

It starts with the “Miracle on King Street,” an event organized by the city.

“Just getting started into the Christmas spirit,” said Brockville resident Debbie McIntyre.

“I always like to come down and support the local businesses downtown, it’s a nice opportunity, beautiful day.”

From 10 to 4:00 p.m., King Street will be transformed into a winter wonderland, operating as a Christmas market with a variety of activities being held.

Some of the activities include the Brockville Railway Tunnel being lit up with red and green lights, sleigh rides around Blockhouse Island, an ugly-sweater decorating contest and a gingerbread house-making competition.

In addition, two local farms set up shop with their own petting zoo’s, dressing their animals in festive gear.
