Former pediatrician pleads guilty after over 3,000 child porn images, videos found

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A man previously employed as a pediatric cardiologist in the Baton Rouge area pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Gathe Jr. announced on Wednesday, Nov. 20, that Antonio Felipe Belda, 39, of Ontario, Canada, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

According to officials, Belda possessed approximately 171 videos and 3,034 images of child pornography, some of which involved the sexual assault of children as young as eight years old.

Officials said Belda admitted during his plea to using internet-based accounts and mobile applications to obtain child pornography, and he possessed the illegal content on various computers and electronic storage devices.
