Concordia University’s Loyola Campus indoor sports facility, the Stinger Dome, has been closed for over two weeks, forcing the last-minute cancellation of local amateur soccer games.

In a statement, the university said the dome was closed for repairs. “We aim to re-open it as soon as possible, hopefully next week,” said spokesperson Vannina Maestracci.

Local soccer leagues have reportedly been forced to cancel games and are waiting for more information from Concordia.

Albert Zbily with Corporate Soccer said that his league has been left in the dark and hopes for a quick resolution.

From November to April, the south field of the Loyola Campus is transformed into the Stinger Dome, which is covered by an air-supported structure.

It is also one of the only indoor fields on the island following the closure of the Catalogna Soccerplex in Lachine in 2021.
