WASHINGTON D.C. — Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. spoke at the 2024 White House Tribal Nationals Summit in Washington D.C. on Monday.

The Cherokee Nation said Chief Hoskin spoke on the “Strengthening the Nation to Nation Relationship” panel which included U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.

Chief Hoskin spoke on how the Cherokee Nation utilizes federal funds to help strengthen Cherokee communities and assist Cherokee small-business owners.

The Cherokee Nation said Chief Hoskin also spoke on how the tribe asserts historic treaty rights.

At the summit, President Biden announced a 10-year initiative to revitalize indigenous languages.
