Woman hit by Calgary garbage truck [Video]

A pedestrian was rushed to hospital after she was hit by a garbage truck in downtown Calgary on Tuesday.

The collision happened near 5th Street and 8th Avenue S.W. around 6:30 a.m. 

There’s no word yet on the extent of the the woman’s injuries.

The intersection was completely blocked to vehicle traffic.

A big dent could be seen on the front bumper of the garbage truck and there was clothing and other debris visible behind the truck.

Police are investigating and spoke to several witness at the scene.
