A conflict between three people over a vehicle being towed during a snow removal operation erupted in gunfire in Montreal’s east end Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles borough Tuesday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 9:45 p.m. about gunshots heard on Forsyth Street near Tricentenaire Boulevard.

“The suspect fired at least one shot in the direction of the victim,” said Antony Dorelas, a spokesperson with Montreal police.

Shortly after, a 39-year-old man was arrested.

He could face charges of assault with a weapon and discharging a firearm.

A 19-year-old was treated at the scene for nervous shock, but there were no reported injuries.

Investigators are on site to determine the reasoning behind the shooting.
