An automated license plate reader tracked the stolen vehicle as an officer patrolled Muskoka Road 118 just west of Port Carling at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, OPP said.

The officer confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Caledon, police said.

Police said five people were charged.

The accused parties are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Jan. 21.
